The essential
21 magic bends to tackle
While the ascent of the Alpe d’Huez may not be the most arduous of the Alps, it is difficult to manage and very tricky. A warning to climbers who are overly generous in the effort expended during the first 3 kilometres (the most difficult)! After 2 km of a neutralized start and warm-up, the assault on the 21 bends begins with one certainty: summer awaits you at the summit!

KEY INFORMATION
A good climber is an informed climber. Here are some concepts, recommendations and resources of interest, to help you get the most out of your experience, and to help us deliver the first edition as smoothly and safely as possible.
COMPLETE RULES
Read it (preferably before registering) in order to fully understand the possible intricacies of the event and its organisation.
INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL
The organisation, through its marshals, will monitor compliance with the basic principle of an individual time trial: NO OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE IS PERMITTED. In particular, companions are asked to not move about on the climb during the event and to not follow any rider.
FICTIVE START
Due to logistical constraints and for your safety, the starting line at Bourg d'Oisans (Warm-up Zone and official starting ramp) is fictive BUT MANDATORY with chip monitoring. The timekeeping starts at the foot of the ascent, about two kilometres away.
START TIME
Climbers do not have the ability to change their start time after registration. It is allocated in chronological order at one of the 4 starting windows chosen by the climber when registering online. The exact start time is tentative: the climber must first and foremost comply with his starting window and the assigned ramp colour.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
A shuttle system allows climbers to leave their belongings (in a properly closed bag identified by the label provided by the organisation) in the space provided for this purpose in the warm up zone. Once across the finish line, the climber collects his bag at the dedicated area near the finish line.
NO FINANCIAL AWARD
If the spirit of THE CLIMB is meaningful to you, you have already understood the limited importance of competition in the event. In order to maintain this vision, no financial award will be given to the winners. However, many valuable prizes and gifts are planned in addition to trophies, commensurate with the performance of the winners.
RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
The organisation sets up clean zones at the starting line, finish line and throughout the race. Any climber caught disposing of any waste outside these areas may be immediately disqualified by a marshal. Help us protect the environment and make the event sustainable.
AN AFTER CLIMB PARTY FOR EVERYONE
Access to the After Climb Party is open to everyone! Families, friends, companions, the curious, young and old... Join us at the Palais des Sports in Alpe d'Huez from 7:00 p.m. for an explosive evening.
